The European Week of Sport, 2023 edition, part of the European #BeActive campaign, will also come to Constanța in the 23rd to 30th period of September, Constanța City Hall announces in a Facebook post.
Several cities in the country will organize activities on the occasion of the sport week, and in Constanța the event will kick off in Tăbăcărie Park on Saturday at 18:00, authorities say.
“The project, which is being carried out in Constanța through a series of events to mark the European Union’s new #BeActive campaign, promotes an active and healthy lifestyle and contributes to raising awareness of the importance of sport and active living for the health and well-being of communities,” the city hall explains the purpose of the initiative.
Activities open to all age groups will also be rewarded with various surprise prizes, according to the organizers.

BeActive, now in its ninth itteration, is a Europe-wide campaign to encourage a healthy and more active lifestyle for millions of people across Europe and beyond.
The 2022 edition of the campaign was a significant success, the European Commission reports: over 30,000 events and 13 million participants in 40 countries, and the #BeActive hastag was mentioned tens of thousands of times in the run-up to and during the week – with a record 93,000 mentions on social media during sports week.
